England won his fourth match in a Euro qualifier

England defeated Kosovo 5-3 in Southampton on 10 September, despite conceding first.

Kosovo surprisingly opened the scoring in 53 seconds. Michael Keane passed the ball into Vedat Muriqi’s foot in front of the penalty area. The ball reached Valon Berisha and the player did not miss an opportunity when facing goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Kane, Sancho and Sterling scored in England’s victory

Prior to this match, Kosovo experienced 15 consecutive unbeaten matches, including the victory over the Czech Republic last Saturday. Therefore, the visitors can confidently make an earthquake after scoring the opener.

However, England quickly quenched that hope. Raheem Sterling equalized for the home side with a header from close range before Harry Kane increased the lead to 2-1 with a cross.

Overwhelmingly playing the opponent, it is not difficult for England to score three more goals in the first half. Mergim Vojvoda fumbles to bring the ball home after a cross of Sterling.

Jadon Sancho scored twice easily at the end of the first half after Sterling’s clear passes. He was ahead of the opponent 5-1 when entering the break.

However, a minus point in this victory of England is the errors in the defense. Muriqui sent a pass through the entire England defense to Berisha to score twice at the beginning of the second half.

Then the world’s most expensive center-back Harry Maguire, who has just joined Man Utd for $ 97 million, handled awkwardly inside the box and fell Muriqui. On the penalty spot, the Kosovo striker didn’t miss the chance even though Pickford guessed in the right direction.

In the remaining minutes, England had the opportunity to score more when awarded a penalty but Kane could not beat Kosovo goalkeeper. This victory helped England maintain a record of success after 4 matches in Group A, Euro 2020 qualifier. The Czech Republic finished second after a 3-0 win over Montenegro.
